Analysing Opening Scenes - Introduction

I am going to look at a number of opening sequences from a range of films from different genres to find out what the conventions of opening sequences are regardless of the genre. I've already got a broad idea of what you could expect in an opening film, such as the production company idents and title cards. I am going to analyse a few films in detail so I can be certain what the conventions are. once I know what the conventions are I can include them in my opening film.

I have chosen the opening sequences from the following 5 films.

'Divergent' (Sci-Fi) 

'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' (Action/Adventure)

'Twilight' (Romantic Drama)

'Freaky Friday' (Teen Comedy)
