Opening Sequences and Characters - 'The Wolf of Wall Street'

The first film I will be looking at which introduces characters is the biopic 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. 

• He is presented as powerful and wealthy. This is evident in the beginning when he carelessly throws £25,000 on the floor as part of a bet
• It is also evident that he is the boss, because when he speaks everyone turns their attention to him
• He is presented as egotistical; this is evident when he draws attention to his personal luxuries and his lavish lifestyle through a voiceover with matching photos
• We get a sense of his recklessness when he flies his helicopter and almost crashes into his house
