I've already looked at a number of opening sequences and have found that one of the main purposes is to create a sense of enigma. So I've decided to look in more detail at 2 opening scenes that focus on creating a sense of enigma and discuss how this is created. The 2 films I've chosen to analyse in terms of the way they create a sense of enigma are:
