Opening Sequences and Settings - 'Saturday Night Fever'
The second film I will be looking at which introduces the setting is the musical 'Saturday Night Fever'.
- The setting is presented as having busy streets, this is shown in the beginning of the opening sequence when they show a range of shots emphasising busy streets and very compact housing
- Establishing the setting of New York by showing the Twin Towers and Brooklyn Bridge, in order to help the audience understand that it is a busy town
- The setting is presented as run down, which is shown on the graffitied train which is old looking
- The setting is portrayed as a lower class area, this is evident in the dirty streets and litter on the ground
