Analysing Existing Titles and Credits From the Romantic Comedy Genre

I will now analyse the titles and credits of existing romantic comedy opening sequences. 

The first film I will be analysing the titles and credits of is '50 First Dates'.


The first title to come up is the name of the production company (Columbia Pictures) followed by the word 'presents'. Next we see the name of the producers (A Happy Madison Production and a Flower Films Production). We then see the name of the film ('50 First Dates').

The next film I will be analysing the titles and credits of is 'The Holiday'.


Just like '50 First Dates', the first title to come up is the production companies (Columbia Pictures and Universal Pictures) followed by the word 'presents'. This is followed by 'in association with' the name of the producers (Relativity Media and A Waverly Films 'production'). Next we see the director's name (A film by Nancy Meyers). We then see the names of some of the main actors (Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black). The name of the film appears next ('The Holiday'). We're then introduced to more of the main actors' names (Eli Wallach, Edward Burns, Rufus Sewell). We then see who it's cast by ('casting by' Jane Jenkins, Janet Hirshenson, Michelle Guish). This is followed by more crew titles: 'Music by' Hans Zimmer, 'Costume designer' Marlene Stewart, 'Edited by' Joe Hutshing, 'Production designer' Jon Hutman, 'Director of photography' Dean Cundey, 'Executive producer' Suzanne Farwell. We then see the producers' names ('produced by' Nancy Meyers, Bruce A. Block). 

The next film I will be analysing the titles and credits of is 'She's All That'.


The first title to come up is the production company (Miramax Films) followed by the word 'presents'. This is followed by 'in association with' the name of the producers (a Tapestry Films and Film Colony 'production'). Next we see the name of the director ('a film by' Robert Iscove). The name of the film appears next ('She's All That'). This is followed by the name of the producers (A Lauren Shuler Donner Production). The next title to appear is the name of the director (A Nora Ephron film). Next to appear are the names of the main actors (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan). The next title is the name of the film ('You've Got Mail'). We then see more names of the main actors (Parker Posey, Jean Stapleton, Dave Chappelle, Steve Zahn, Dabney Coleman, Greg Kinnear, Heather Burns, John Randolph, Deborah Rush).
