Rough Layout of My Opening Sequence - Developed

Here is a rough layout of what I would like to include in my opening sequence:

I will start by adding idents of the production companies I have selected, as well as the first of the title credits.

Next I will include more titles, which will consist of the producers and the director's name.

I will then give establishing shots/long shots of a wedding preparation, which will roughly last a few seconds.

I will then try and include a wipe transition to a montage of the main protagonists getting ready to attend the wedding. This will also be alongside the names of the actors that are playing the main protagonists. The montage will include various shots such as a close up of the male protagonist tightening his tie, and a close up of the female protagonist putting on her earrings in the mirror. During this, I will also be showing the protagonists character traits using mise-en-scene. I will also include some credits as part of my montage.

I will then include a split screen of both protagonists holding a wedding invitation.

It will then cut to the male protagonist exiting his car at the wedding with his best friend alongside him, who will be telling him that he needs to start getting serious and start dating, in order to recover from his previous relationship. The shot will end with the male characters going to the bar to get a drink.

After this, it will slowly transition to the female protagonist exiting her car with her mother, who encourages her to start dating and experiencing the 'real world', instead of reading books and studying all the time. This shot will also end with both characters heading to the bar to get a drink.

We will then see all the characters at the bar. The female protagonist will order a soft drink, which her mother will use against her as evidence that she needs to experience life to its fullest, whilst she is still young with no responsibilities. Meanwhile, the male protagonist won't stop drinking so his 'sidekick' tells him he should cut down. Both the mother and the best friend leave and the main protagonists are left at the bar alone and frustrated. Simultaneously, they both order the same alcoholic beverage, and stare at each other whilst they receive their drinks.

The protagonists start talking about why they're so frustrated which is a common interest that they share in their very different lives. They are also both intoxicated whilst having this conversation.

We then see both intoxicated protagonists decide to 'fake date' in order to stop being pressured by the other characters. They make a bet to keep up with each others lifestyles and keep up appearances, so that it appears to others that they are dating.

It will then cut to the name of the film 'The Bet'.
